As we hit the final stretch, here is
hoping that spring is not too far away and warmer days are ahead. However, we still have a few items to finish
before school comes to a close.
In grades K-2 we have started our
catching unit and focusing on catching with our hands and not against our body. After this, we will start our underhand
throwing unit. A big emphasis, for throwing, will be for the correct leg to
step forward as this technique is used for many sports.
In grades 4-8 we are also starting a
unit on badminton which should take us to the end of the month. Students will be working on the finer points
of the sport, covering such skills as forehand and backhand clears, drives,
drop shots, serves and spikes. Grades
5-8 will be tested on these skills .
The STORM badminton team will also be
practicing over this month for league tournament which is scheduled for April
28th. Practices will be held two to
three times a week after school. For
tournament information you can visit the Manitoba Catholic Schools Athletic
Association website at www.mcsaa.ca .
Have a great month everyone!
